The company started as Uniform Appliance Center in the 1960’s as a single proprietor business. Originally located along Evangelista St., in the busy district of Quiapo, it initially sold consumer appliances such as refrigerators and air conditioners and their parts which was the emerging market at the time.
In August of 1981, the company was incorporated as UNIFORM REFRIGERATION AND AIRCONDITIONING SUPPLY, INC. (URAS). URAS streamlined its operations from selling consumer refrigerators and air conditioning units to selling its parts to focus on serving a niche market. This accelerated the company’s growth rapidly and in the 1990’s, the company moved its operations to its present office building in Sales St, Quiapo, Manila.
It is also during this time that URAS decided to broaden its hold in the industry’s market share. In 2001, HPV Thermal Transfer Inc., was formed to focus on the fabrication of Chilled Water, DX, Condenser Coils, FCU, Shell and Tube Condenser, DX Liquid Chiller, Air Handling Unit and Steam Coils.
